This move marks the formal relocation of the PMO and the Cabinet from the colonial-era North and South Blocks on Raisina Hill to the newly built Central Secretariat. The transition is part of a phased movement where key ministries, including Finance and Health, have already begun operating from ‘Kartavya Bhavan’. The new structures are designed to be environment-friendly and state-of-the-art, addressing previous issues of space crunch and safety concerns in older buildings. The renaming of the complex to ‘Seva Teerth’ aligns with other recent changes such as ‘Kartavya Path’ and ‘Lok Kalyan Marg’, reflecting a shift away from colonial symbols toward a service-oriented administrative mindset. The historic North and South Blocks will now be vacated as the government centralizes its operations in the modern Central Vista facilities.
