PM Modi in UK: Final Talks on FTA, Fugitive Extradition, Khalistan Terror Issue | India Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-nation visit, beginning with the United Kingdom from July 23rd to 24th. During the visit, he will hold wide-ranging talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and is also expected to meet King Charles III. The key agendas include the final legal work on the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, which aims to double bilateral trade to $120 billion by 2030. India will also press its case for the extradition of fugitives like Lalit Modi, Nirav Modi, and Vijay Mallya. Concerns about the activities of Khalistani extremists in the UK will be a significant point of discussion. A key view is, "This is a matter of concern not only to us, but it should be a matter of concern to our partners as well, because This impacts social cohesion and social order in these other countries." The visit will focus on strengthening the relationship in areas of trade, technology, and defence.
