In a special address to the Indian diaspora in Muscat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s rapid development over the last 11 years. Speaking at a community event, PM Modi expressed gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the late Sultan Qaboos for their support to Indians in Oman. He stated, ‘India is moving ahead in terms of development,’ citing an 8% economic growth rate. The Prime Minister detailed achievements in education, noting the rise in IITs, AIIMS, and medical colleges, and the impact of the New Education Policy. He also emphasized India’s strides in technology, mentioning that the country has become the world’s second-largest mobile manufacturer and a leader in digital payments via UPI. PM Modi further spoke on space collaboration, announcing the India-Oman space portal and inviting Omani students to ISRO’s Yuvika programme.
