Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally at Brigade Maidan in West Bengal, declaring that women will be safe under a BJP government and criminals will be jailed, calling it ‘Modi’s guarantee’. He accused the TMC government of running on the support of goons and criminals, alleging that the party protects mafia groups and fundamentalists while encouraging infiltrators to expand their vote bank. Modi claimed that demographic changes in West Bengal over recent decades have deliberately turned Bengali Hindus into a minority. He criticised the TMC for opposing citizenship for Hindu refugees and the National Register of Citizens to protect infiltrator votes. The Prime Minister alleged that the TMC government has created an atmosphere of fear through threats to voters, critics, media and opposition. He referenced the 2019 Balakot airstrike, stating that TMC demanded proof from the Indian Air Force. Modi also condemned the TMC’s treatment of President Droupadi Murmu during her recent visit to West Bengal for a Santal tribal festival, calling it an insult to tribal communities, women, and the Constitution.
