In a fiery speech in Begusarai ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the opposition, framing the electoral battle as a choice between the NDA’s development agenda and the ‘Jungle Raj’ of the past. He said, ‘Ek RJD ka parivar hai, Jo Bihar ka sabse bhrasht parivar hai… Dusri taraf Congress ka Ek parivar hai, Jo desh ka sabse bhrasht parivar hai.’ While paying homage to national poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and Bihar’s first Chief Minister Srikrishna Singh, Modi urged voters, particularly the youth, to vote for a ‘samriddh Bihar’ (prosperous Bihar) and continue the journey from ‘Suu shasan’ (good governance). He endorsed the state leadership of Nitish Kumar and the NDA alliance, contrasting it with what he termed the ‘Maha Lathbandhan’—an alliance of selfish, feuding parties.
