PM Modi Hosts Mauritius PM in Varanasi With Grand Cultural Welcome, Bilateral Talks | India Today

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hosting Mauritius Prime Minister Dr. Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi. The visit, part of a state visit to India from September 9th to 16th, 2025, focuses on strengthening bilateral ties. The two leaders are holding discussions on crucial matters including trade, development partnerships, and capacity building. The Mauritian delegation was welcomed with an electrifying atmosphere in Kashi, featuring cultural programmes with traditional Bhojpuri songs, reflecting the deep historical ties between Mauritius and the Purvanchal region. A person in attendance was quoted singing a welcome song, "Arey Kashi Mein Padhari huye Hain arey pahul ban sriman padhare aaj Nagar more gaon Mein swagat hai sriman." The visiting Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend the Ganga Aarti and visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
