PM Modi Full Speech: Unveils 'GST Bachat Utsav' Slams Congress For Neglecting Northeast |India Today

In Arunachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister announced major development projects and the commencement of a nationwide ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ coinciding with Navratri. The speech highlighted the implementation of next-generation GST reforms, intended to simplify the tax structure and make numerous goods cheaper for consumers. The Prime Minister contrasted the current BJP government’s focus on the North East with what was termed as decades of neglect by the previous Congress government. A significant quote from the address was, "The border villages which Congress used to call the last village, we considered them the first village of the country." The address also covered infrastructure boosts like the Shaila Tunnel, the Vibrant Village Programme for border areas, and a renewed push for self-reliance through the adoption of ‘Swadeshi’ or indigenous products. New projects in power, connectivity, tourism, and health sectors were also mentioned.
