Ashwini Vaishnaw assumed his roles as Information and Broadcast and Railways Minister. The erudite Dr. S. Jaishankar, a former diplomat, assumed the role of External Affairs Minister for the second consecutive term. The Modi 3.0 Cabinet is a mixture of continuity and change as it tries to give space to BJP bigwigs and also accommodates NDA allies. With BJP stalwarts retaining their earlier line-up, Rajnath Singh gets defense, Amit Shah gets home, Nirmala Sitharaman gets finance, and S. Jaishankar gets external affairs.
