🏺 Peru celebrates a cultural homecoming as 133 archaeological and historical artifacts have been returned from Belgium and Switzerland.
Among the most significant returns:
🪵 A 17th-century Baroque altar from Cusco, crafted by the Dominican Order, and long kept in Sweden by private collectors.
🧵 132 pieces of pottery and textiles from ancient Nasca, Tiahuanaco, Chancay, Chimú, and Inca civilizations — all rich with Peru’s ancestral stories.
🎯 This historic repatriation reflects Peru’s ongoing mission to recover looted cultural heritage from across the globe. The effort was coordinated by Peru’s embassies and consulates in Europe and the Americas.
