A prominent businessman, Gopal Keemka, owner of one of the biggest hospitals in Bihar, was shot dead near his residence in Patna. The incident occurred around 11 PM as Keemka was returning from a Patna club. Assailants fired indiscriminately at him as he was entering his apartment. Police have recovered bullets and shells from the crime scene and are investigating the case, including retrieving CCTV footage to identify the criminals. The incident has raised serious questions about the law and order situation in Bihar, with opposition leaders criticizing the state government’s ability to maintain security. Pappu Yadav, a political figure, questioned how the government could keep Bihar safe if it couldn’t secure a four-kilometre stretch of Marine Drive.
