Ankit Dewan, the passenger who alleged that he was assaulted by an Air India Express pilot during a dispute at Delhi airport, spoke to India Today TV and said that the confrontation began at a staff security checkpoint when the pilot, identified as Captain Virender, objected to his presence there and made derogatory remarks.
The incident came to light after Dewan took to X and accused the Air India Express pilot of physically assaulting him at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Air India Express has acknowledged the allegation and said the pilot has been removed from duty pending an internal inquiry.
