Parliament Face-off: BJP Calls Oppn Antics 'Drama', Congress Questions Govt's Silence On Key Issues

A special report on the escalating face-off between the government and the opposition that marked the beginning of the winter session of Parliament. BJP Member of Parliament Sudhanshu Trivedi accuses the opposition of theatrics, citing instances like MPs mimicking the Vice President and other actions by senior leaders. Countering this, Congress MP Syed Nasir Hussain argues that it is the government’s duty to facilitate debate and that the opposition is raising legitimate national concerns. Hussain questions the government’s priorities, asking, ‘If we are asking for a discussion on Chinese incursions in our country, then if he thinks it is a drama, I can’t help it’. The debate highlights the growing trust deficit and questions why Parliament cannot function and discuss the core issues facing the nation, all while the cost of disruptions is borne by the taxpayer.
