On the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leaders, and opposition figures gathered at the old Parliament complex to pay tributes to the martyrs. The attack on 13 December 2001 resulted in the deaths of security personnel and a gardener. Five terrorists, allegedly from Pakistan-based groups, were killed by security forces. The event remembers the valour of those who defended the Parliament.
