Pakistan's Bigotry Exposed: Hindu Pilgrims In Sikh Jatha Blocked At Wagah, Sent Back | India Today

This special report focuses on Pakistan’s move to bar 12 Hindu pilgrims from entering the country as part of a Sikh jatha for the Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations. The pilgrim group, which included devotee Amit Chand, was the first to travel to Pakistan after India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ earlier in the year. Speaking to India Today, a heartbroken Amit Chand said, ‘the Pakistan official said what will you do in this Jatan?’ The pilgrims, who had valid visas issued by the Pakistan embassy, were initially welcomed at the Wagah border before being singled out and sent back from immigration. This discriminatory act has been slammed as an attempt to create a rift between Hindu and Sikh communities, with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee also criticising the move. The report highlights that the pilgrims’ money for bus fares was also taken and not refunded.
