Five months after it was decimated in an Indian airstrike, the Lashkar-e-Tayyaba is rebuilding its Markaz-Tayyaba headquarters in Muridke, Pakistan. The terror group is reportedly using state funds and diverting aid intended for flood victims to reconstruct its infrastructure. The original facility was destroyed on May 7th during ‘Operation Sindoor’, an Indian counter-terrorism strike that targeted three core buildings used for cadre accommodation, weapons storage, and training. Following the airstrike, only the skeletal remains of the structures were left, rendering the site unusable for the group’s operational needs.
