Pakistan Calls Tahawwur Rana ‘Canadian’ Ahead of Extradition | Tahawwur Rana Extradition
Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to allow Tahawwur Rana’s extradition to India, Pakistan has publicly distanced itself from the 26/11 Mumbai terror co-conspirator.
Rana, a Pakistani-origin Canadian national, is set to face trial in India for his alleged role in the 2008 attacks that killed over 160 people. In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry clarified, “Tahawwur Rana has not renewed his Pakistani documents for over two decades. His Canadian nationality is very clear.”
The comment comes as Rana’s extradition flight prepares to land in Delhi, where he will be handed over to Indian authorities and face charges under anti-terror laws.
