Indian security forces have eliminated three terrorists—Gibran, Afghan, and Suleiman—responsible for the attack in Pahalgam that killed innocent civilians. In a successful counter-terrorist operation named ‘Operation Mahadev’, the forces neutralized the perpetrators. Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on the floor of the house that these were the same terrorists who also carried out the attack at the Z-More Tunnel. The identification was confirmed through a meticulous investigation involving forensic analysis of weapons, intelligence from apprehended local guides, and the recovery of Pakistani voter identity cards for two of the three terrorists. According to the home minister, they now have the "Pakistani voter identity card details, numbers of two of the three Pakistanis." The operation was a blend of human and technical intelligence, initiated after local Gujjars and Bakarwals provided information about a terrorist group’s presence.
