Pahalgam Attack: Tracing The Shiva Connection Of Kashmir’s Holy Land
On April 22, Pakistani terrorists shattered the peaceful Pahalgam Valley in Kashmir taking the lives of 26 innocent tourists. The Hamas-style attack which targeted innocent and unarmed Hindu tourists at the picturesque meadows of Baisaran comes just weeks before the Holy Amarnath Yatra that is slated to begin in July.
What makes the attack even more significant is the fact that Pahalgam, besides being a breathtaking valley, is a key stopover for pilgrims on their way to the Amarnath Cave, a sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Not just that, the Baisaran Valley is home to several ancient Hindu temples, which stand testimony to its cultural heritage and historical significance.
