Pager Explosions Rock Lebanon, MP’s Son Among 9 Hezbollah Members Killed
At least 8 including a Hezbollah MP’s son were reportedly killed and over 2,700 were injured in Beirut’s suburbs and other parts of Lebanon after their handheld pagers exploded, marking a major security breach. The incident occurred on Tuesday and the death toll is likely to go up, according to the sources. Lebanese state media and security officials said. A senior military intelligence official and an official with a Lebanese group reportedly stated that the pagers carried by Hezbollah members were detonated and are believed to be an Israeli attack.
However, the Israeli defence forces have not issued any comment on the explosion incident in Lebanon. Photos and videos from Beirut’s southern suburbs circulating on social media and in local media showed people lying on the pavement with wounds on their hands or near their pants pockets.
