AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi spoke about the UGC rules and the issue of discrimination in universities.
He said the rules clearly state that there should be no discrimination against minority, backward class, Dalit, and tribal students. Owaisi added that a big controversy was created over this, even though the Indian Constitution and Supreme Court judgments talk about real equality.
Owaisi also said that the Modi government could not defend the rules in the Supreme Court, after which a stay order was issued. He warned Dalits that if such attitudes continue, one day people may even try to remove the SC/ST Atrocities Act.
He also spoke about a video targeting Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, saying that even if he has no sympathy for him, such behaviour against a minister is wrong.
