Over 35 Million Foreign Workers In Gulf: Indians Form Largest Expat Community | GRAVITAS

Countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council — including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman — host more than 35 million foreign workers, making the region one of the world’s largest hubs for migrant labour.

Workers from India form the biggest expatriate community in the Gulf, with an estimated 9.4 million Indians living and working across GCC nations. Large numbers of migrants also come from Bangladesh, Nepal, Egypt, and the Philippines.

Foreign workers play a crucial role in sectors such as construction, oil and gas, infrastructure, and services, helping power the rapid economic growth of Gulf economies.
