An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport, resulting in over 240 feared casualties. The flight, bound for London Gatwick, impacted a medical students’ hostel near the airport. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was among the passengers and is feared dead. Only one survivor has been reported so far. The crash has claimed the lives of at least 3 MBBS students, with over 40 others injured. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with authorities searching for the black box to determine the cause of the crash. Home Minister Amit Shah visited the crash site to assess the situation, and PM Modi is expected to visit Ahmedabad tomorrow.
