Over 300 Members of Parliament from the opposition India bloc marched from Parliament towards the Election Commission in Delhi. The protest was against alleged ‘vote chori’ or vote theft and issues with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, particularly in Bihar. Police denied permission for the march, leading to the detention of several MPs, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. During the detention, Mahua Moitra, a TMC MP, reportedly fainted. The opposition leaders asserted that the protest was a show of strength and unity. Malika Arjun Khadge, Congress Party Chief, stated, "This is not a political fight, this is a fight to save the constitution. This is a fight for one man one vote. That’s why we need a clean pure voter list." The opposition aims to make this a significant issue, highlighting concerns over the integrity of the electoral process.
