Pakistan has issued a third NOTAM, extending the closure of the runway at its Rahim Yar Khan Airbase until August 5. The continued shutdown comes two months after India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, which was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. The repeated extension suggests significant damage was inflicted on the airbase runway, a claim supported by satellite imagery reportedly showing large craters. This contradicts Pakistan’s public statements denying any major damage from the Indian strikes. According to a correspondent, "the damage was so intense that Pakistan is still not able to repair it and to operationalize the Rahim Ya Khan Air Base." The facility is a strategic dual-purpose airport that also houses the Sheikh Saeed International Airport and was one of 11 military sites targeted by India.
