Good evening. The Dawood Ibrahim linked politician Nawab Malik has had the temerity to say that his party the NCP/Ajit faction has reached a political adjustment regarding him with the BJP. This means that hes saying the BJP is OK with its ally fielding a Dawood linked man in the elections. Unless the BJP denies this, it will be seen as the truth. And for BJP supporters, for believers in the BJP’s right of centre politics, this will naturally be a huge disappointment. This issue, Ajit Pawar’s insistence on fielding a Dawood linked man in the elections, was a great opportunity to dump the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP. The BJP will lose more than gain by compromising on this subject. The BJP will be seen as ready to compromise on its position on those associated with anti national activities, and with terrorism. A small time Dawood gang acolyte like Nawab Malik is threatening the BJP saying that without Ajit Pawar no government can be formed in Maharashtra. The BJP should have called this Nawab Malik and Ajit Pawar’s bluff. They should have said that “we wont compromise on Dawood even if it means not forming the government”. That would have got them more support than they would have lost by breaking with Ajit Pawar. The BJP would have been seen to be correcting the mistake it made during the Lok Sabha election by getting in corrupt leaders like Ashok Chavan and closing ED cases of other new allies. Last night I was told by the BJP leaders who came on the show that a deadline of 4TH that’s next Monday is being given to the Ajit Pawar Party to withdraw Nawab Malik the Dawood linked man as an official candidate. I don’t think Ajit Pawar will do that. And I believe the only and best option for the BJP is to cut ties with Ajit Pawar and stick to principle than electoral maths, the same kind of maths that didn’t work in Maharasthra the last time…
