Security forces are engaged in a counter-terror operation in Kishtwar district’s Chhatru area following a fierce gunfight with terrorists. One army personnel has been killed, and two others injured. The operation faces challenges due to the difficult terrain, dense forests, and mountains. Three to four Jaish terrorists are believed to be hiding in the area, having infiltrated months ago. The security forces, including Army paracommandos, J&K Police SOG, and CRPF, are working together to neutralize the threat.
