In a detailed interview, Hussain Hassan Mirza Alsayegh discussed the UAE’s neutral stance in the Iran-Israel tensions and called for Indian intervention. Hussain emphasised that the UAE ‘did not allow any activities against Iran from our soils’ and questioned why the country has been targeted despite its neutrality. Hussain expressed strong confidence in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic influence, stating that ‘one phone call from Mr. Modi will solve the problem’. Hussain highlighted Modi’s recent visit to Israel and India’s substantial relationship with Iran as a major oil buyer. Hussain also stressed India’s responsibility to protect its large diaspora community in the UAE, noting their contributions to infrastructure, trade, and business over 80 to 100 years. Hussain compared the UAE’s position with other Gulf nations like Kuwait and Qatar, noting that even Qatar, which hosts the largest American base in the region, has reportedly seen American aircraft moved to avoid confrontation.
