In a country where cornea transplants are rare, there is no waiting list for corneal transplants in three states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. NDTV’s Uma Sudhir spoke to Dr G.N.Rao founder-chair of the prestigious Hyderabad-based L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) that has made this a reality. The institute has also created a world record by performing over 50,000 Corneal Transplants since 1987 and is now working to create a 3D-printed cornea.
