Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, is contesting in the ongoing elections from two seats, Ganderbal and Budgam. He organised a unique Shikara rally in Dal Lake, Srinagar, to reach his voters. The rally was not only for himself but also for his party candidates in different parts of the 26 assembly constituencies. The election sees a decrease in voter turnout in some areas compared to 2014, which Abdullah believes the current government should consider.
