Two horrific crimes against young girls have jolted Odisha – and triggered massive public outrage. In Puri district, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly set on fire by three men while on her way to a friend’s house -just 1.5 kilometers from a police station. She has now been airlifted to AIIMS Delhi in critical condition. Meanwhile, lets not forget The Balasore self immolation case where a college girl self immolated because no one was hearng her complaints of harrasement. These back-to-back cases have sparked statewide protests, with the Opposition Congress and BJD hitting the streets, slamming the government over rising crimes against women. Prohibitory orders are now in place around AIIMS Bhubaneswar – and in Puri, the three accused remain at large. We begin tonight with the very latest on both these cases shaking Odisha’s conscience.
