NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani Faces Storm After Epstein Files Name His Mother Mira Nair
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing a political storm after his mother, filmmaker Mira Nair was named in the latest U.S. Justice Department release related to convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein.
An email from 2009 reportedly places Nair at an after-party for her film Amelia at the home of Ghislaine Maxwell. Other high-profile figures were also mentioned. There is no evidence of wrongdoing by Nair.
Despite this, protesters gathered outside the mayor’s residence, chanting slogans and accusing him of misleading voters. At 34, New York City’s youngest and first Muslim mayor now faces intense public scrutiny.
