During the 41st Raising Day of the National Security Guard (NSG), Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the foundation of a new Special Operations Training Center (SOTC) costing Rs 141 crore. This eight-acre center will use advanced technology to train NSG commandos and other anti-terrorism police squads across India to fight terrorism. Shah said the central government alone cannot tackle terrorism in such a large country. He praised the NSG for protecting India since 1984 in operations like Ashwamedh, Sarvashakti, Dhangu, Akshardham, and Mumbai attacks. Six NSG hubs already exist in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Jammu, with a new one in Ayodhya. NSG commandos will be ready 24/7 to respond to sudden terrorist attacks in designated zones.
