Incessant rainfall triggers severe waterlogging situations in Imphal East. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for most districts of Manipur, forecasting heavy rainfall accompanied by high-speed winds, thunderstorms, and lightning until June 2. Army officials have informed that “helpline numbers have been shared with all the agencies” and that “rescue work was underway”. Chief Secretary of Manipur, Prashant Kumar Singh said "It has been raining for the last 3-4 days.We had kept all the departments in readiness. We had hired a lot of vehicles.At the moment, there has been no loss of life or property. The Governor also went out and had a first-hand inspection".
