Heavy rains have caused widespread devastation in North India, triggering flash floods in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu. The Bias River in Himachal has overflowed, causing significant infrastructural damage in Kullu and Manali. A large section of the Kullu-Manali Highway, National Highway 3, has been completely washed away, severing connectivity in the region. Reports from the ground show the grim reality, with houses left hanging precariously after the land beneath them was eroded by the floodwaters. A reporter on the scene described the signs of devastation, stating, "this is the Kullu Manali Highway which has been broken, completely washed away and that resort also hangs in danger."
