A shocking murder-suicide occurred in Noida on Valentine’s Day, where the bodies of a young couple, Sumit and Rekha, were discovered inside a locked car in Sector 107. Preliminary investigations suggest that Sumit shot Rekha before turning the firearm on himself. Police recovered a pistol from Sumit’s hand and a suicide note in which he allegedly blamed Rekha for ‘betraying him’ by choosing to marry someone else despite a 15-year relationship. Family members indicated that the couple faced significant ‘pressure from the caste’ for a long time. While the vehicle was locked from the inside, questions remain regarding the origin of the weapon, as Sumit’s family claims he did not own a gun. Forensic teams have inspected the scene, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Ballistic tests are also being conducted on the recovered bullets as Noida police continue their investigation into the tragic incident.
