Bihar is undergoing significant infrastructure and development transformation, driven by focused bureaucratic efforts. The state’s road construction budget increased to 8,000 crores, with over 119,000 kilometers of rural roads and more than 2,500 bridges constructed, enhancing connectivity. Urban areas benefit from decongestion projects, including bypasses and flyovers. In the energy sector, Bihar achieved universal household electrification by October 2018. Peak power demand reached 8,752 megawatts in 2025, with urban areas receiving 22-24 hours and rural areas 18-20 hours of daily supply. The state installed 77 lakh smart prepaid meters. Digital connectivity in Bihar surpasses the national average. Bihar is positioned as a gateway to Eastern India with five expressways, four functional airports, and dedicated freight corridors, supporting future industrial clusters. Social infrastructure, including engineering and medical colleges, has expanded, with PMCH set to become Asia’s largest medical facility. Economically, Bihar boasts a market of over 140 million people, with a 9.2% growth rate in 2023-24. New industrial policies are fostering growth in labor-intensive and agro-processing sectors, attracting over 3,800 industrial proposals.
