Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said his ministry is committed to providing good roads and will introduce new technology to tackle the problem of potholes. Speaking at India Today Mumbai Conclave, Gadkari pointed out that potholes are usually found on bitumen (asphalt) roads, which have a shorter life and require more frequent maintenance. He said concrete roads have fewer potholes but they do not have the flexibility of bitumen roads.
