For regional development, the ‘Poorvodaya’ plan focuses on the eastern states and Buddhist circuits in the Northeast. On the fiscal front, the Minister confirmed the acceptance of the 16th Finance Commission’s recommendation to maintain the vertical devolution at 41 percent, while targeting a reduced fiscal deficit of 4.3 percent of GDP for the upcoming financial year.
