Nirmala Scorches Rahul Gandhi, Reminds Cong of Who ‘Sold Out’ In Sharm-Al-Sheikh Pact
At the Parliament Lok Sabha 2026 Session, Rahul Gandhi claimed the Prime Minister has sold India by signing the India-US trade deal and by handing over India’s data to them, because they have a chokehold on him. He also claimed that the farmers of India have been "left to the mercy of mechanised massive American farms."
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman responded to his claims. She stated that India is incentivising data centres so that the data can remain in the country and Indian youth can get jobs. Sitharaman also gave a befitting reply to Rahul Gandhi’s "sold Bharat Mata" remark. She referred to the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement of 2009, made between then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and then Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, and said that Congress was the one to sell the government, farmers, the poor, and the nation.
