An investigation into the death of Nikki Bhatti in Greater Noida reveals conflicting narratives. The victim’s in-laws initially claimed she died from a cylinder blast, but police found flammable liquid and a lighter at the scene, with no evidence of an explosion. The probe has uncovered allegations of an extramarital affair involving Nikki’s husband, Vipin Bhatti, whom she had reportedly caught. An FIR for assault had been filed against Vipin by the other woman in October of the previous year. Nikki’s family has also alleged demands for dowry. According to a neighbour, Nikki was taken to the hospital by her in-laws while still conscious, where she reportedly said, "Give me water, I have trouble breathing."
