The governor’s office also claimed his microphone was switched off during proceedings. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin condemned the walkout as a breach of tradition and disrespect to the House, moving a resolution rejecting the governor’s conduct and recording only the government-prepared address. The political row has intensified existing tensions between the state government and the governor’s office, with Stalin signaling plans to pursue a constitutional amendment to remove the requirement for the governor’s annual address
