The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed multiple states to conduct comprehensive civil defence mock drills on May 7th across 244 districts. The Union Home Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority, National Disaster Response Force, and Indian Railways are among key stakeholders participating. The drills aim to prepare citizens for potential emergencies, with scenarios including aerial attacks and water-based emergencies being simulated. In Kashmir, mock exercises have already begun, with SDRF conducting drills on Dal Lake.
