Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur tomorrow, marking his first trip to the state since the outbreak of ethnic violence in 2023 that claimed more than 200 lives. For over two years, the Opposition has targeted the Prime Minister for not visiting the state to personally review the situation in the conflict-hit northeastern region.
Manipur Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel announced that the Prime Minister will arrive on September 13 to inaugurate development projects worth Rs 8,500 crore. PM Modi will first land in Churachandpur where he will interact with some of the internally displaced persons in the district.
