The unrest, which continued into Saturday, led to extensive damage and prompted paramilitary patrols through deserted streets. Authorities have intensified their crackdown, arresting 12 more individuals during overnight raids, bringing the total number of arrests to 150. Murshidabad residents said to India Today that their homes were burnt by the goons. The water had been poisoned.
