Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan introduced the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha.
The Bill aims to support rural development in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. It proposes a legal guarantee of 125 days of wage employment every year for each rural household whose adult members are willing to do unskilled manual work. The goal is to promote employment, empowerment, growth, and a strong and prosperous rural India.
