Initially spotted in 2016, its true nature remained unclear until advanced telescopes provided new insights. The disk, observed through the Submillimeter Array (SMA) in Hawaii, is rich in dust and gas, essential materials for planet formation. Protoplanetary disks like this one serve as nurseries for planets, where gas giants and rocky planets form around young stars. This discovery enhances our understanding of how planetary systems, including our own, come to be.
