Astronomers are closely tracking Comet C/2025 R3, a newly discovered visitor from the outer solar system that could soon put on a dazzling display. Scientists say a rare optical effect called forward scattering may dramatically boost its brightness as it passes between Earth and the Sun. If conditions align, the comet could even become visible to the naked eye. First spotted by Pan-STARRS, the comet appears to be a fresh arrival from the Oort Cloud, making this a once-in-a-lifetime event. Skywatchers are being urged to keep an eye on the eastern horizon in the pre-dawn hours.
