Following two days of intense demonstrations, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has resigned. The unrest, initially triggered by a ban on social media, reflects deeper public anger over inflation, unemployment, corruption, and nepotism. Protesters have targeted government buildings and properties allegedly owned by political leaders, including the Prime Minister’s private residence, which was looted and set on fire.
