The deportation process of the Luthra brothers from Thailand has begun, in the first step towards bringing them back to the country over the deadly fire at their nightclub in Goa.
Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra had fled the country within hours after the tragedy struck their ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ in Arpora. They were eventually detained by the Thai authorities in Phuket following a request from India.
The Luthras are now being brought to Bangkok by Thai officials. Indian officials will take custody of the Luthras after they land at the Suvarnabhumi Airport.
They may be held at Suan Phlu Immigration Detection Centre for another couple of days until their deportation formalities are completed. Only then, an emergency certificate will be issued. The emergency document is necessary since their passport is suspended and must be validated by the Indian embassy.
