The Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA is expected to get a clear majority in the Rajya Sabha after bye-elections for the 12 seats slated to take place next month, which would enable the government to get the nod for key legislations such as Waqf (Amendment) Bill. The Centre introduced the Bill in the Lok Sabha in the recently-concluded Monsoon Session and sent it to the Joint Parliamentary Committee.
